Indonesian Basketball Team Earns Fourth Victory in Australia

VIVA –The Indonesian men's national basketball team won their fourth of eight trial matches since April 4 after defeated NBL1 club Illawarra Hawks with a score of 89-81.
Assistant Coach for the Men's Elite National Team, Johannis Winar stated: "We played very well until the middle of the fourth quarter. We had lost momentum until our opponents had time to reduce the scoring margin,"
In the match against Illawara at the Snakepit Stadium in Gwynnevile Australia, the men's elite national team opened the scoring with two points from Anthony Beane Jr. The two points sparked a flow of points for Indonesia, which at the start was behind the hosts.
After closing the first quarter with a position 24-31, the Indonesian national team played with passion and very well; they were able to shorten the gap to close the match at 43 apiece before the break.

After the break, the national team played more productively. After making adjustments on the field, points continued to be scored so that in the third quarter they were able to lead 73-57. The dominance was maintained until the end of the fourth quarter so that the national team could lock in the victory with a score of 89-81.
"Overall, we played well. In the first quarter we were overwhelmed by the opposing team's star player but then improved after the team made adjustments," said Assistant Coach Johannis Winar, on Sunday.
With this result, the men's elite national team got four wins and four losses from eight trial matches in Australia, or a winning percentage of 50 percent.
During the training camp and trial period in Australia until April 24, the men's basketball national team still has one more match left before preparing for the Cambodia SEA Games next May.
