President Jokowi Wishes Happy Eid al-Fitr to All Indonesian People

VIVA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expressed his congratulations on Eid al-Fitr 1 Shawwal 1444 Hijri which falls on Saturday, April 22, 2023 to all Indonesian people.
"Happy Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri, we apologize physically and mentally, hopefully, our good deeds during Ramadhan will be accepted by Allah," President Widodo said in a video uploaded on the Cabinet Secretariat's YouTube channel, on Friday.
In his remarks, the President said that after three years of celebrating Eid amid the pandemic situation, this year, the community could again carry out Eid homecoming without the imposition of restrictions on community activities (PPKM).
"This year is the first homecoming without PPKM after three years we are in a pandemic atmosphere, obviously, the movement of the community will be much increased, denser, and more crowded," the President said.
Therefore, the state leader appealed to all people who carry out Lebaran homecoming to remain vigilant and careful in traveling.
"For that reason, I urge you, ladies and gentlemen to remain careful during the Eid homecoming and also during the return flow later," he asked.
In line with the President, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung also hopes that the first Eid celebration after the revocation of the PPKM policy will provide more peace for the community.
"After three years of facing the pandemic, this year we will celebrate Eid al-Fitr in a cooler, calmer, more peaceful manner because the COVID-19 issue has been relatively resolved by the Government," Anung said.
He also expressed his congratulations to all Muslims across the country on Eid al-Fitr, "(Congratulations) Celebrate peacefully, coolly, calmly, stay in touch with your family, and hopefully this will bring blessings to all of us."
