VIVA – The automotive industry is one of the most significant industrial sectors of the Indonesian economy. Along with the development of technology, the automotive industry in Indonesia has also experienced big progress.
Various automotive companies in Indonesia have made various efforts to improve the quality and competitiveness of their products in the global market.
One of the biggest advances in the Indonesian automotive industry is the implementation of Industry 4.0 technology. The application of this technology is proven to improve productivity and efficiency, which can accelerate industrial competitiveness and lead to boosting national economic growth.Â
Many automotive companies in Indonesia have implemented this technology in their production process.Â
For example, Akebono Brake Astra Indonesia is one of the national automotive companies that has implemented Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in the quality inspection process of making four-wheeled motor vehicle brakes.
The AI machine used can check product quality more quickly and efficiently, minimizing human error and increasing accuracy.
The technology can also predict potential cracks that may happen, so the inspection team can take preventive measures before the product is marketed.
Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Electronics Industry of the Ministry of Industry, Taufiek Bawazier said: "The application of industry 4.0 in the manufacturing industry sector has been proven to increase productivity and efficiency,"
"In the end, it can accelerate industrial competitiveness and lead to encouraging national economic growth," he added when visiting the booth of the automotive component industry that appeared at Hannover Messe 2023, quoted from the Ministry of Industry's official statement Wednesday.Â
Akebono Brake Astra Indonesia also shows the Manufacturing Dashboard, which is used to help manufacturing teams monitor production processes in real-time and provide information related to product performance, including production time, and production costs.
"This makes it easier for companies to make the right business decisions and identify areas for improvement," said Director of Astra Otoparts Tbk, Yusak Kristian Solaeman.
