Indonesia and Czech Republic Enhance Cooperation in Various Sectors

VIVA – The Indonesian President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), and Prime Minister (PM) of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala, agree to enhance cooperation between the two countries. Both were stated after a bilateral meeting, at Bogor Presidential Palace, on Tuesday.
"This was the first time PM Fiala as Czech government to visit Indonesia. Czech businessmen were also present during this visit. It signs the commitment to build and enhance cooperation." President Widodo stated.
Several issues were discussed during the meeting, President said, including cooperation in trade, investment, defense, and strategic industries. Also, this meeting discussed issues in ASEAN, the Indo-Pacific, and plans to organize the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Infrastructure Forum (AIPIF) in September.
Moreover, President Jokowi encouraged the completion of the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (Indonesia-EU CEPA) negotiations in the trade sector. He also underlined several EU regulations that he considered discriminatory.
"We also agreed to explore joint production cooperation between strategic industries, technology, and capacity building," the President said.
Meanwhile. in the field of investment, the state leader invited the Czech Republic to be involved in the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) development.
"I also invite the Czech Republic to invest in IKN Nusantara, especially in the field of environmentally friendly mass transportation," he remarked.
