The human error refers to mistakes that are made by humans, usually due to a lack of attention, knowledge, or skill. It is known, 61% of accidents, especially during homecoming, are caused by human error. Well, how to avoid it? check below for the explanation.

"Car accidents usually result in 2-3 fatalities. 61% of the causes are human error. Our physical and mental state, especially for drivers, should be healthy, not stressed, and feeling burdened or rushed," said

"Usually when going home, many drivers experience microsleep – lose consciousness or become unaware of their surroundings, even though their eyes may remain open – if this is forced, they can feel narcolepsy or excessive daytime sleepiness, and may fall asleep suddenly and unintentionally at any time. So, this must be avoided," Suharto explained.

There are several tips given by Suharto, such as one of them: "Try to stop every 4 hours during the trip when driving. For example, in the first 4 hours, you can take a break, take a short nap, and stretch your body. But in the second 4 hours, you really have to sleep, have quality sleep. Because usually in the second 4 hours of driving, the nerves are no longer functioning normally. Especially in the third 4 hours. That's my advice

However, it basically all depends on each person's physique. It's different. There are those who sleep for a short time and are refreshed again, there are those who need quite a long sleep, then they can be refreshed again, he added.

There are some tips for drivers to avoid car accidents by human error:

1. Follow traffic laws and safety guidelines

Drivers should always obey traffic laws, including speed limits, stop signs, and traffic signals. They should also wear seat belts and make sure all passengers do the same.

2. Avoid distractions

Distracted driving is a common cause of car accidents. Drivers should avoid using their cell phones, eating, or engaging in any other activity that takes their attention away from the road.

3. Never drive under the influence

Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is extremely dangerous and can lead to accidents. Drivers should never get behind the wheel if they are impaired.

4. Stay alert and focused

Fatigue, drowsiness, and inattention can all lead to accidents. Drivers should make sure they are well-rested before driving, take regular breaks during long trips, and stay alert and focused on the road.

5. Practice defensive driving

Defensive driving involves anticipating and avoiding potential hazards on the road. Drivers should maintain a safe following distance, avoid aggressive driving behaviors, and be prepared to react to unexpected situations.

Most people ignore safety, but the fact, safety belongs to all, be it drivers or passengers. So, be careful when driving during Eid homecoming.
