Jokowi Meets UAE Ambassador to Discuss Investment Cooperation

VIVA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received a courtesy call from Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Abdullah Salem Al Dhaheri at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday.
The Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi stated that there were several things discussed during President Jokowi's meeting with the UAE Ambassador. First, Jokowi expressed his congratulations on the appointment of the crown prince of Abu Dhabi.
"President officially congratulated Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan who was appointed as the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed as Vice President of the United Arab Emirates. The President asked to convey this congratulation to both of them," Minister Marsudi said at the Presidential Palace.
Second, Minister Marsudi reveals that President Widodo and Al Dhaheri discussed efforts for economic relations between the two countries, namely regarding the finalization of the ratification of the Indonesia UAS comprehensive economic partnership, which is now in the process of ratification.
In addition, President Joko Widodo also said that he would attend the world climate action summit which is planned to be held in early December, coinciding with the celebration of the UAE's 52nd national day, she informed.
"He also talked with the UAE Ambassador about several investment projects, among others in the field of port development which is expected to be completed soon.” she concluded.
