VIVA – The 50 most attractive citizens in the world have been revealed, and India takes first place, with the United States beating Sweden to the runner-up position. The ranking was produced by an analysis of thousands of Reddit posts about attractive countries.
Any Reddit posts referencing “attractive”, “sexy”, “beautiful”, “handsome”, “gorgeous,” “good looking”, “pretty” and “hot” with a country were analyzed. A score was then created using the number of posts, comments, and upvotes.
According to the study, by the swimwear brand Pour Moi, Japanese people are the fourth most attractive, Canadians are the fifth best-looking, and Brazilians in the sixth position. Meanwhile, the rest of the top ten comprises France (seventh), Italy (eighth), Ukraine (ninth), and Denmark (tenth).
Moreover, the UK misses out on a top 10 position – it comes 12th. But the study revealed that British men are thought of as the most attractive.
In the ranking of the most attractive male countries, India came in second, followed by Italy, the US, and Sweden in fifth place. The most attractive female nationalities table is topped by India, with Japan in second place, Sweden in third, Poland in fourth, and Italy taking fifth place.

As part of the study, Midjourney, an AI image generation tool, was tasked with producing images of what it believed attractive people in 14 countries look like.
“When it comes to the most attractive women around the world, Indian women top the list for Reddit users. With an extremely successful Bollywood movie scene, with women wearing gorgeous gowns, and wearing equally as eye-catching makeup and hair, it’s easy to see why these women have been crowned the most attractive,” Pour Moi stated.
Others are Japanese and Swedish women. Both have their unique signature looks, with Japanese women often sporting super clean looks that are the envy of fashionistas around the world.
While Swedish women regularly opt for a minimalist style accompanied by blonde hair.
Pour Moi added that the most attractive male nationality, the UK, tops the list for online users who may fall for a handsome British gentleman with a classic style like in the movie Pride & Prejudice or a more modern one.
"Indian men come second on the list as the most attractive men, whether it's their good looks that attract people or their typically strong family values that draw people in," she explains.
Rounding out the top three are Italian men, who are known to be very passionate about life and more expressive with their feelings, so it's easy to see why users find them so attractive.
