WSBK Mandalika 2023 Crowded with 59,000 Spectators, Minister Says

VIVA – The Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno revealed the number of spectators at the World Superbike (WSBK) event which took at Mandalika Circuit, Lombok Island on March 3-5, 2023, reached 59 thousand spectators.
This number was obtained directly from Dorna Sports. The number of spectators is higher than the previous year's WSBK.
"59 thousand more (spectators). There is a 15 percent increase compared to WSBK Mandalika 2022. This is a very proud number," Minister Uno said at the Mandalika Circuit Media Center, on Sunday.
According to the minister, this number is proof of the tourism in West Nusa Tenggara progress, because the spectators besides watching the race, were tour to several tourist destinations. Hotel occupancy is also said to be quite good with a fairly high number of spectators.
"We are waiting for comprehensive hotel occupancy data. We should not conclude without data," Minister Uno remarked.
Minister Uno said that since a long time ago the promotion of WSBK Mandalika 2023 has continued to be encouraged. Promotion is not only carried out by the Ministry of Tourism and Economy but West Nusa Tenggara Province also contributes to tourism promotion.
"We have been promoting for a long time. Alhamdulillah, our spectators have proven to be a lot compared to the previous year," he said.
