Seven Countries Join the JCS Minangkabau 2023 Event

VIVA – A total of 228 participants from seven countries, namely Indonesia, China, the Netherlands, France, Latvia, Laos, and Thailand participated in the Jelajah Cycling Series or JCS Minangkabau 2023. The start of this event was marked by the release of the start flag by the Deputy Governor of West Sumatra, Audy Joinaldy, on Saturday morning.
The total length distance traveled by the racers will be 112 Kilometers starting from the city of Padang, Solok to finishing at Basa Pagaruyung Palace, Batusangkar, Tanah Datar Regency. All participants of JSC Minangkabau 2023 competed for a total cash prize of IDR 502 million.
According to Joinaldy, many benefits can be taken from this event. "There are many benefits that can be taken from organizing this event, such as increased promotion and tourist visits. Also, encouraging the development of the creative economy, culinary, and SME sectors in West Sumatra," he stated on March 4, 2023.
"This is very good and in line with the government's efforts to increase tourist visits following the Visit Beautiful West Sumatra (VBWS) 2023 tagline," Joinaldy added.
Separately, the Head of the West Sumatra Tourism Office, Luhur Budianda also appealed to the public to take part in efforts to succeed JCS Minangkabau 2023 as a promotional event for West Sumatra Tourism, Culture, and Culinary to all visitors who come.
"Let's make JCS Minangkabau 2023 a success for the advancement of the West Sumatra tourism sector in the framework of Visit Beautiful West Sumatra (VBWS) 2023, showing that we are good, friendly and cultured hosts," concluded Budianda.
