"No matter what the result is, it will certainly be a reference for decision-making in water resource management," he remarked.

Basuki said the World Water Forum is the largest international meeting related to the water sector. The World Water Forum is an essential platform for all global water issues involving all stakeholders.

The forum aims to raise awareness about the current challenges in the water sector and discuss and initiate real solutions to them.

Previously, Indonesian President Joko Widodo hoped that the 10th World Water Forum in Bali in 2024 would not only be an ordinary conference but could produce concrete recommendations to overcome the global water crisis.

Minister Basuki Hadimuljono explained that on February 15-16, 2023, the inaugural meeting will be attended by the entire Board of Governors of the World Water Council, consisting of 56 people. In addition, this inaugural meeting will also be attended by more than 1,400 participants.

This kick-off meeting is expected to go well to mobilize all. The goal is to mobilize and move all stakeholders in the water sector to be more concerned about the problems of water resources management.

Meanwhile, President of the World Water Council Loic Fauchon expressed his appreciation for the support of President Joko Widodo and all stakeholders in Indonesia.
