Indonesian Aid for Earthquake Victims Has Arrived in Turkiye

VIVA – The Indonesian Search and Rescue team (INASAR Team) arrived in Turkiye on Sunday, 9.50 am, local time. They came with humanitarian aid, assisting the urban search and rescue of victims of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit the Pazarcik District of Kahramanras Province, Turkiye, last Monday.
"The INASAR team was welcomed by two officers at the Adana Airport Reception and Departure Post (RDC). After receiving a briefing from the ambassador at Aksoy Hotel Adana, the team moved to Hatay," National Search and Rescue Agency Public Relations Officer, Anjar Sulistyono stated in a written
Anjar said that the INASAR team of 47 people departed from Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport.
The humanitarian mission sent by the Government of Indonesia to help with post-earthquake management in Turkiye was trusted by the Turkish Disaster Management Agency (AFAD) to carry out the mission in Antakya City, Hatay Province.
The information was conveyed by the Indonesian Ambassador to Turkiye, Lalu Muhamad Iqbal, after conducting final coordination with AFAD leadership.
"This is a trust. On the direction of the Indonesian Foreign Minister on the first day of the earthquake, the Indonesian Embassy Team was already in the four most affected areas on the second day of the earthquake, before any foreign representatives went to these areas," Iqbal said.
Iqbal said, in addition to evacuating Indonesian citizens, his office also assessed the field to identify the most affected areas that will be the target of the Indonesian Humanitarian Mission.
