VIVA – The Indonesian Open Water Swimming Team won four gold medals at the 1st SEA Open Water Swimming Championship, Putra Jaya, Malaysia on February 2-4, 2023. This is a good achievement for the preparation of the SEA Games 2025.

Four gold medals in Malaysia were obtained by Fadlan Prawira, Adinda Larasati Dewi, Izzy Dwifaiva Hefrisyanthi, and the mixed relay team. In this championship, the numbers competed were 5KM, 10 KM, and Mixed Relay with several age group categories.

The first gold was presented by Aflah Fadlan Prawira in the men's 5-kilometer number. Fadlan who was accompanied by Coach Doni B.Utomo managed to finish first in the men's 5-kilometer number with a record time of 55 minutes and 21.4 seconds.

Second place went to Thai swimmer Nattapon Intaratchaiku with a time of 56.21.4 seconds and third place to Singapore swimmer Artyom Lukasevits with a record of 56.31.2 seconds.

In this number, there are two other Indonesian swimmers, Timothy Mulyadi is in fourth place with a record of 01 hours 03.59.7 seconds. Another one Richie Augusta in fifth place with a record of 01 hours 10.39.6 seconds including OTL.

Then, Fadlan Prawira was also named the best male swimmer, "Fadlan's achievement is quite good. Besides Fadlan, there are also several other swimmers who achieved good results and in the young age category. They are prepared for the 2025 SEA Games," explained Liza Januar, Chief de Mission Indonesia.

On the first day, besides Fadlan, female swimmer Adinda Larasati Dewi also won a gold medal in the women's 5-kilometer number with a record of 01 hours 01 minute 13.7 seconds.

Another Indonesian swimmer who won the bronze medal was Kathriana Mella Gustianjani with a record of 01 hours 05.21.6 seconds. Second place was Singaporean swimmer Candice Ruo Han Ang with a time of 01 hours 05.21.6 seconds.

In the 5-kilometer number aged 18-19 years, Indonesia also won the third gold won by Izzy Dwifaiva Hefrisyanthi with a record of 01 hours 02.11.8 seconds.

The third position was also achieved by Indonesian swimmer Aisha Jenar Laksitadevi with a record of 01 hours 10.07.3 seconds. Still, in the same number in the16–17-year age category, Indonesian swimmer Naurah Calissa Adeputri ranked fourth with a record of 01 hours 05.50.4 seconds.

Afterthat, the fourth gold medal was donated by the Indonesian team in the mixed relay number with a record of 01 hours 13 minutes 00.8 seconds.

The Indonesian team consisted of Mochamad Dimas Permana Taufik, Adinda Larasati Dewi, Izzy Dwifaiva Hefrisyanthi, and Aflah Fadlan Prawira.

Earlier on the second day, Virgin Silvia Natan won a bronze medal in the women's 10 kilometers with a record of 02 hours 17.17.4 seconds.
