The Making Largest Pizza Breaks World Record, with 68,000 Slices

VIVA – Several chefs gathered at the Los Angeles Convention center in the United States to break records by making the world's largest pizza. They made the world's largest pizza covering 14,101 square feet or 1,320 square meters on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
The process of making the world's largest pizza is still the same as pizza in general, which uses the basic ingredients of dough, pizza sauce, cheese, and pepperoni.
First of all, the chefs make large rectangular slices of dough stretched over the hall to become the base of the pizza. The dough is then coated with tomato sauce on the surface before being sprinkled with cheese and pepperoni on top.
Once the manufacturing process is complete, the pizza will cover a space of 1,320 square meters and serve as many as 68 thousand slices. David Graves, president of the company, said that the team making the giant pizza itself is a big team.
“Yeah. So, it’s a big team, as you can see. I mean, look at the size of it. It’s a giant pizza. It’s about 14,000 square feet. So, if you think about that, it’s going to be like 68,000 slices of pizza when we’re all done. And the great thing is none of it’s going to waste,” David Graves stated.
Behind Pizza Hut's attempt to break the record with the world's largest pizza, this 68,000-slice pizza will be donated to a local food bank so that no pizza goes to waste.
Pizza Hut's world record attempt is similar to that of the home of pizza - Italy. More than 400 chefs met in Naples in 2016 to create a 1,853-meter-long pizza, breaking the record for the world's longest pizza. To make their magical creation, the chefs used as much as 2,000 kg of wheat flour, 1,600 kg of tomatoes, 2,000 kg of mozzarella, and 200 liters of water.
