VIVA – The automotive industry presents various types of cars to fulfill the needs of Indonesian consumers, starting from city cars, and sport utility vehicles, to multi-purpose vehicles. Some cars have become favorites for people.
For example, a MPV car has spacious interiors and can accommodate up to seven people. Similarly, SUVs also have a lot of capacity and a dashing appearance.
Small cars such as city cars and hatchbacks are also available, for those who need a practical vehicle that does not waste gasoline. Then, for people who have limited funds, the Low-Cost Green Car segment can be an option and are available in five and seven-passenger types.
The automotive observer who is also an academic at the Bandung Institute of Technology, Yannes Martinus, said that this year three types of cars are predicted to sell a lot and become a trend in Indonesia.
"The trend of vehicle sales in 2023 will increase in the small-medium MPV class, small-medium SUV, and city car class," he said on Thursday, January 5, 2023.
Regarding prices, Yannes said that cars that are the target of consumers in the country are still in the range of IDR 250 million to IDR 300 million, the same as in previous years.
"What will sell more is the low-end MPV and low-end SUV with conventional engines, in the range of IDR 250 million and below produced by Toyota and Daihatsu," Yannes Martinus said.
Meanwhile, small-sized vehicles such as city cars and hatchbacks will be the target of young people, "For the affordable price class, it will be increasingly filled by city car products that are very popular with the millennial segment for personal transportation, affordable with their purchasing power," Yannes Martinus remarked.
