Joan Mir First Comments as Repsol Honda Team Rider

VIVA – At the 2022 Valencia MotoGP, last November, Joan Mir tried the Honda RC213V motorcycle. At that time, he was still under contract with Suzuki Ecstar until December 31, 2022. But now, he officially becomes a Repsol Honda rider.
He gave his first comments about his new team. He said that he did not expect to join Honda, and it becomes a sweet moment in his career.
"My feelings when I joined a team like this one was unbelievable. I think that every rider has imagined himself with these colors, so being a part of this makes me really proud to arrive at such a sweet moment in my career. So, let’s see what we can do.” Joan Mir said in his first interview as a Repsol Honda rider.
Mir also gives stated the goal in 2023 with Repsol Honda Team. He said that he will try to be closer to the podium and a great result.
“My goal for 2023 well first of all we have to be realistic, we arrive at difficult moments, and that will be the key to adapt quickly to this bike. Then to try to build some confidence some speed during the first races and the middle season try to be closer to the podium, closer to the great result that will be the goal.” Joan Mir explained.

During the test at the Valencia 2022 MotoGP, Joan Mir had a conversation with Marc Marquez and he felt it was normal.
“We were chatting after the test is something normal when a new rider came to the box and tied the bike you want to hear what is his feelings,” Joan Mir said.
With these abilities and experience, Mir also hopes to contribute so that his new team can perform better this season.
"As a young and new rider, I can bring freshness to the team. My experience in different teams is something that always provides good information for the team," he said.
"I think we share the same goal, which is to win the title again. This is what I can give to the team," he concluded.
