According to DIGITIMES Research, by 2023 5G smartphone shipments are expected to grow by more than 20 percent and will be largely driven by markets outside China even though the Chinese market is slowly recovering from the current economic downturn.

Markets outside China are expected to account for more than 70 percent of global 5G smartphone shipments for this year.

3. Recharge will be faster

Recharging a smartphone battery will be a crucial factor for users in choosing a smartphone. Fast and safe charging options in flagship-class smartphones will increasingly penetrate the mid-segment.

For example, in recent years, 67-Watt chargers, which were previously only available in the flagship class, are now available in the mid-high class such as the Poco X3 GT. Then, the time and extreme performance needs of a smartphone will increase which impacts the greater power usage of the smartphone.

So, there will be an increasing need for faster recharging power. And eventually higher charger power will come to the mid-range segment.
