VIVA – Singapore has been named the safest country for travelers because of its low crime rate. It is proven by the research done by a United States startup, The Swiftest recently.

Singapore offers various places to explore, starting from natural attractions, recreational parks, and shopping outlets. No wonder, many are interested in visiting Singapore including tourists from Indonesia.

Although it is a country with an expensive cost of living, Indonesian tourists still choose Singapore as a vacation spot because the distance is quite close. Regardless of security issues, as humans anywhere and anytime we still need to be vigilant and respect the culture and environment of a country.

1. CCTV on every street corner

Surveillance cameras are installed along the streets. Despite this, Singaporeans are more cautious and think a thousand times about committing crimes.

2. Severe punishment for criminals

Singapore has strict rules with severe consequences if its citizens misbehave. Thieves in the Lion State can face up to 3 years in prison with a fine or both.

3. Singaporeans earn a salary equal to their work

Poverty is one of the factors of criminal acts. The low crime rate in Singapore is also due to the decent salaries earned. With sufficient salaries, residents do not need to break the law to get money.

4. Children in Singapore are taught to obey the law

Parents in Singapore have instilled in their children to obey the law by telling them the ethics and consequences of committing illegal acts. As a side note, young children in Singapore can freely travel without their parents because citizens obey the law.

5. Singaporean police's fast response to crime

Perhaps some people are reluctant to report crimes to the police because they think that their reports will be ignored. However, this does not apply in Singapore. The citizens dare to report if there is a crime and the police swiftly handle the case. Singapore police are also ready to serve citizens or tourists for 24 hours.
