VIVA – Being wealthy is a dream for everyone. It turns out that in Indonesia there are old men who have trillions of wealth. These old men are even included among the 50 richest people in Indonesia in 2020 according to Forbes.

Their average age is 84 years to 94 years with various businesses such as new coal, palm oil, nickel, and others. Well, here are five old men in Indonesia with wealth reaching trillions, as quoted from VIVA Bisnis on December 21, 2022.

Lim Hariyanto Wijaya Sarwono has the title of one of the richest old men in Indonesia. At the age of 94, he has assets of US$ 1.12 billion or equivalent to IDR 17.4 trillion at an exchange rate of IDR 15,600 per US$. The source of Lim Hariyanto's wealth comes from palm oil to nickel.

As known, Lim and his family have a majority stake in Singapore-listed palm oil producer Bumitama Agri. The family-owned Harita Group also owns the majority of the bauxite mining company Cita Mineral Investindo.

2. Mochtar Riady (IDR 22.6 trillion)

Mochtar Riady is currently 93 years old with a wealth of US$1.45 billion or equivalent to IDR 22.6 trillion. With this amount of wealth, Mochtar Riady is also one of the richest old men in Indonesia.

He is the founder of Lippo Group. Currently, Lippo Group is involved in real estate, retail, healthcare, media, and education.

3. Boenjamin Setiawan (IDR 74.8 trillion)

Boenjamin Setiawan has a wealth of US$4.8 billion or equivalent to IDR 74.8 trillion. Boenjamin Setiawan, who is now 89 years old, is familiarly called Dr. Boen. Boenjamin Setiawan is a doctor who founded Kalbe Farma in a garage in 1996 with his five siblings.

4. Soegiarto Adikoesoemo (IDR 19.03 trillion)

Soegiarto Adikoesoemo is also one of the richest Indonesian old men because he has a wealth of US$ 1.22 billion or equivalent to IDR 19.03 trillion. The 84-year-old, Soegiarto Adikoesoemo is the founder of AKR Corporindo, which is engaged in the chemical sector and is currently expanding into the fuel sector.

5. Kiki Barki (IDR 20.2 trillion)

Kiki Barki is currently 83 years old and has a wealth of US$1.3 billion or equivalent to IDR 20.2 trillion which comes from the coal business. Kiki Barki founded the Harum Energy company engaged in coal mining in 1995 and was listed on the IDX in 2010.
