38 Indonesian Swimmers Ready to Compete at SEA Age Malaysia 2022

VIVA – The Indonesian Swimming Association (PB PRSI) sent 38 athletes to participate in the 44th SEA Age Group Swimming Championship Malaysia on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at the GBK Aquatic Stadium, in Senayan, Jakarta.

"Alhamdulillah, today, we are releasing the team for SEA Age which will be held at Putra Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We sent 38 athletes accompanied by eight officials," said PB PRSI Deputy Chairperson Reswanda T. Ade.

In this match, there are three age groups, namely group 1 (range of 16 years and over), group 2 (age of 14 and 15 years), then group 3 (under 13 years).

PB PRSI hopes that these young athletes can make achievements where swimming sports are included in the Grand Design of National Sports (DBON) to be included in the Olympics.

"We want these children to be our hope in the next few years and we have emphasized to them to always think of achieving higher in looking at the Olympics expected by the country," said Reswanda.

"We want to create a national sports grand design that is always based on the Olympics," Reswanda added.

Furthermore, Reswanda explained that the Indonesian swimming team's target is to aim for the best position in the 44th SEA Age Group Swimming Championship tournament which will take place in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

"We know that competitors are also not playing around in this case. Of course, we hope that the children will give their best if God wants us to aim for Indonesia to be the overall champion. That way, PB PRSI hopes that the achievements made in the next few years can provide an overview of aquatic world in Indonesia and even the Southeast Asian region." Reswanda stated.

Reswanda also asked all Indonesian people to pray for the victory of Indonesian swimming athletes.

"We ask for prayers from all people for the Indonesian team to excel in bringing the good name of Indonesia at this SEA Age event. It is hoped, in the next few years this will be the picture or map of the aquatic world in Southeast Asia in particular." Reswanda said.
