VIVA – The coordinating minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, expressed his appreciation for the outcomes of the G20 Summit in Bali recently. This includes support for the development of renewable energy Geothermal potential in Indonesia, as well as the development of green hydrogen.

Therefore, Minister Airlangga invited the Ministers of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) to improve the quality of green economy investment and promote capacity building and technology transfer.

According to Airlangga, APEC needs to establish a financing mechanism to support the implementation of the green transition in member economies.

Indonesia needs about US$ 322.8 billion to achieve its 2030 National Determined Contribution (NDC) target, so innovative financing mechanisms are needed, including from the private sector, the international community, or other financings, said Airlangga Hartarto.

In addition, he also expressed support for the Bio-Circular Growth (BCG) Economy Model initiative and invited APEC economies to collaborate.
