VIVA – The G20 Summit was successfully held. World leaders and invited guests have returned to their countries. One form of success of this event is in vehicle mobility that uses electric vehicles, both motorcycles, and cars.
Several automotive brands helped make the G20 event successfully by donating eco-friendly vehicles, such as Toyota bZ4X, Lexus UX 300e Wuling Air EV, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Genesis G80. Meanwhile, Electric motors were also donated, such as the Alva One, Honda PCX Electric, Zero DSR, and Energica EsseEsse9+.
According to the Secretary of the Ministry of State Secretariat, Setia Utama stated that there were 844 units of electric cars used to transport VVIP guests, delegates, and organizers. As for escort and security police vehicles, there are around 1,500 units of electric vehicles.
"The rest are still fossil vehicles, such as combustion engine cars. For the selection of electric cars, priority is given to brands that already have factories in Indonesia," Setia Utama remarked as reported from the Presidential Secretariat YouTube Page, Friday, November 18, 2022.
After the G20 Summit, Setia Utama said that the electric vehicles used at the Bali G20 Summit will be returned to the manufacturer. Because all-electric vehicles used are on loan by them.
"Because we are on loan, so we will return it to them. Maybe later they will sell or auction, it's up to them, but clearly, they have loaned it to us," Setia Utama remarked.
As information, the use of electric vehicles is in line with the G20 Summit theme and mission of the government which wants to switch from conventional machine to Electric Vehicle (EVs). Therefore, they use electric models to facilities of this prestigious event.
