Six Indonesian Foods that Foreign Tourists Dislike

VIVA – Indonesia has many foods that are popular with foreign tourists, as these foods are savory and have diverse tastes. Unfortunately, some Indonesian foods are not liked by foreign tourists.
In fact, the food has a delicious taste and makes some people addicted. Maybe because the taste is stranger to the tongue of foreign tourists like some of these Indonesian foods, as quoted from various sources.
1. Innards
Animal innards, such as chicken, cow, or goat, are one of the most popular foods in Indonesia. These innards or Indonesian known as Jeroan can be used as a main or side dish, depending on the type of presentation.
Some people think that animal innards are not good for health. Because of this, even foreigners don't like this food. They also don't know many of Indonesia's delicious side dishes.
2. Durian
Being a tropical country, Indonesia has fertile land that can be planted with various types of plants, one of which is fruit. Included in one type of tropical fruit, durian is widely cultivated in Indonesia.
This one fruit is even a favorite of some Indonesians, but not for foreign tourists. They think that the taste of this fruit is quite strange and sometimes some argue that the texture of durian is not suitable for their tongue.
3. Petai
Pete or petai is one of the most popular complementary foods in Indonesia, especially in village areas. However, petai is one of the foods that are not favored by foreign tourists. This is because foreign tourists are not used to the smell caused by this one food.
4. Jengkol
This food, which is found in almost all parts of the country, is also not suitable for foreign tourists. The main reason is its very pungent smell. Just like petai or durian, most of these foreign tourists do not like foods that have a strong smell.
5. Padang Rice
Padang rice is from one of regions in Indonesia, Padang, West Sumatra. Padang restaurants are open in many countries, but there are still those who don't like this food. In fact, rendang from Padang is famous and has received international recognition. If traced, most tourists do not like Padang rice food because the dishes do not look fresh or nice to see.
6. Ceker
Ceker or Indonesian known as feet is one of Indonesia's specialties. There are various kinds of processed feet in this millennial era. Starting from ceker soup, Mercon ceker, super spicy ceker, and so on. Of course, all of these types of food made from feet are very tempting and very delicious.
However, this does not apply to foreign tourists visiting Indonesia. Many of them consider them to be unclean food because they are made from chicken feet and are considered less nutritious.
