VIVA – The popular company of beer and beverage, Anheuser-Busch Inbev from Belgium introduced two variants of Hoegaarden beer, namely Hoegaarden Original and Rosée, through THE GAARDEN IS OPEN event series held at Lucy In The Sky, recently.

Hoegaarden beer is a globally recognized super-premium brand of authentic Belgian wheat beer, boasting a recipe that dates back to 1445 and has stood the test of time. It is produced by Anheuser-Busch Inbev of Belgium, which has appointed PT Mitra Indo Maju as its official and exclusive importer in Indonesia.

Recognition of the quality of Hoegaarden Beer has been recognized worldwide, including through the World Beer Cup award, which is the highest accolade in the beer world. Nine World Beer Cup medals make Hoegaarden the most awarded Belgian wheat beer in history. The two variants introduced this time are Hoegaarden Original and Hoegaarden Rosée.

The original variant has an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 4.9 percent with a unique and complex flavor. This white beer has a combination of sweet, sour, and slightly bitter, with a touch of spicy flavor from coriander and a citrus taste sensation.

Hoegaarden Rosée, with an ABV of 3 percent, maybe pink in color, but it is a true wheat beer. In keeping with its pretty color, it features the delicate taste and color of raspberries.

Hoegaarden Rosée has a natural sweetness in a rich fruity aroma, with hints of spice and coriander. Being unfiltered, the beer comes in a distinctive and lively color with pink hues to bright orange shades.

The Hoegaarden's launch event series, THE GAARDEN IS OPEN, aims to inspire customers to take a break from the daily grind, take time out, and enjoy the break in a relaxed way.

"We are delighted to introduce two Hoegaarden variants, The Original and Rosée, which combine Belgium Beer Heritage and high-quality ingredients. We believe the presence of Hoegaarden will provide new colors and experiences for the beer market in Indonesia," The Hoegaarden Indonesia Brand Manager, Kartika Erwanto remarked, in a written statement.

Meanwhile, the General Manager of Anheuser-Busch Inbev Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia, Dominic Kirk, said that this is a brand with a great history and even more delicious flavors. Hoegaarden is loved by consumers around the world, especially performing very well in the Asian Region, where the brand is known as the number one wheat beer.

"Over the past 25 years, the brand has been launched in China, East Asia, India, and (almost) all regions of Southeast Asia where the connoisseurs are often the first non-lager beer consumers to ever try. Indonesia is a frontier for our brand," Dominic Kirk remarked.

Dominic Kirk says that Hoegaarden Beer was first brewed around 600 years ago by monks who connected Asia to Belgium.

"Hoegaarden comes with a favorite bottle and glassware packaging, a pouring ritual, and a taste that cannot be compared to a typical lager today. What's more, we are talking about a beer that was first brewed some 600 years ago by monks who received the first fruits and spices brought along the silk road that connected Asia to Belgium! This year, we are finally bringing back some of that historical context with a modern twist," he added.
