Peace Ark Ship Runs a Friendship Visit Mission to Indonesia

VIVA – The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) hospital ship from the base in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province, had headed to Indonesia on November 2, 2022. China's Ministry of Defense Spokesperson (MND) Senior Colonel, Tan Kafei, said that the Peace Ark ship will be on a friendship visit mission to Indonesia.
According to Tan Kafei on the MND's official website, during the visit, the AL PLA hospital ship will provide outpatient and medical services to local communities, as well as residents of Chinese descent in Indonesia. Peace Ark will also provide medical surgery and inpatient services as needed.
The ship is on its 10th overseas humanitarian mission and once visited Indonesia in September 2013. "This mission will increase the friendship relations between both countries, the two militaries, and the two peoples," Tan Kafei remarked.

A friendship visit mission for this year coincides with the holding of the G20 Summit in Bali on November, 15 to 16, 2022.
With the Peace Ark mission, speculation about the presence of President Xi Jinping to Bali has become stronger, although so far local authorities have not issued an official statement.
Whenever it is confirmed that Xi Jinping is planning to visit Bali, the Chinese authorities always ask the media to be patient because it will be delivered at the right time. The last time Xi visited Indonesia was in 2013 when he conveyed the idea of the Belt and Road Initiative at the Indonesian House Representatives Building, Jakarta.
