In the 1960s, dr. Kenneth Cooper introduced aerobic exercise, beginning the history of aerobic exercise in the United States. This sport has become popular since the 1970s.

At that time, aerobic exercise was still called fit aerobic and began to change to aerobics in the 1990s. It begins with the development in the number of organizations from time to time and increasing.

The rules of aerobics are constantly being improved because the technique and the level of physical progress of the athletes are increasing. Then, the International Aerobics Federation (IAF) was formed.

In 1995, aerobics was recognized by the Federation of International Gymnastique which would hold its first sporting event in Paris. Previously, sports under the umbrella of FIG (Federation International Gymnastique) were only sporting and artistic rhythmic gymnastics.

The Indonesian Gymnastics Association (PERSANI) is also currently conducting training for athletes in Indonesia for aerobic exercise.

This aerobic sport does not require height or is influenced by the required specifications. So, athletes from Indonesia are very likely to get achievements and become world champions.

The development of aerobics itself began in 2000 when this aerobic exercise was included in the XV National Sports Week (PON) event in the city of Surabaya. Since then, this sport has had many enthusiasts from all over Indonesia.

Not only from Indonesia but other countries, there are also a lot of enthusiasts, especially the movements that are carried out are very easy and also beneficial in making body health and fit.
