- Press Release from Intelligent Transport System
VIVA – ITS (Intelligent Transport System) Indonesia warmly welcomes the collaboration of Unitsky String Technologies, Inc. in the development of a smart transportation system in Indonesia with a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) conducted on October 24, 2022.
The signing of this MoU is the first step for both parties to collaborate to improve the smart transportation system in Indonesia. ITS Indonesia continues to strive to realize its vision to become a forum for the development of smart mobility, the development of a digital transportation ecosystem, economic growth, equitable and environmentally sustainable mobility.
“The collaboration between ITS Indonesia and Unitsky String Technologies, Inc. will increase opportunities for Indonesia to use smarter transportation technologies that are more sophisticated in dealing with various transportation problems such as congestion in urban areas and increased mobility in sub-urban areas, Jakarta." President of ITS Indonesia, William P. Sabandar said.
“For example, with a population of about 11 million people and a high level of congestion, we can integrate this Unitsky String Technology with existing public transportation such as MRT, LRT and BRT. Likewise, Bali and IKN can take advantage of this transportation technology” William P. Sabandar added.
The representative of Unitsky String Technologies, Inc., CEO of uScovery DMCC based in Dubai, Mr. Oleg Zaretsky, welcomed the signing of this MoU. He said that this technology is suitable and significant for Indonesia.
Unitsky String Technologies can be used in big cities or connecting islands with one another, for example connecting between Sumatra and Java. It is also possible to produce this technology (rolling stock) in Indonesia through collaboration with companies/partners under the ITS for project implementation in Indonesia.
This collaboration is expected to be an effort of ITS Indonesia to meet the target of the Government in realizing "Indonesia Zero Emission 2060". Efforts to accelerate the development of a smart transportation system in the New Capital of the Archipelago are also the target of ITS Indonesia in a collaboration plan with Unitsky String Technologies, Inc.
This is in line with the statement of the President of Indonesia, Mr. Joko Widodo, who conveyed the plan for the mode of transportation to be used in the New Capital of the Nusantara to use environmentally friendly modes of transportation in order to reduce air pollution.
The New Capital of the Nusantara was built by prioritizing pedestrians, cyclists and the use of public transportation.
This is also in line with the Ministry of Transportation's plan regarding the development of a smart, integrated, and environmentally friendly transportation system in the IKN area, namely the Smart City concept, Smart Mobility.
These things form the basis of cooperation between ITS Indonesia and Unitsky String Technologies, Inc. which has missions such as reducing harmful emissions, reducing excessive energy consumption and increasing energy efficiency for the benefit of people.
