President Jokowi Hearty Welcomes PM Palestine at Bogor Palace

VIVA – President Joko Widodo received and heartily welcome a state visit from the Palestinian Prime Minister (PM), Mohammad Ibrahim Shtayyeh at the Bogor Presidential Palace on October 24, 2022. PM Mohammad Shtayyeh arrived at the Bogor Presidential Palace at around 10.30 am Indonesia time.
The meeting began with a welcoming ceremony in the palace courtyard. Then, President Jokowi introduced Shtayyeh to several ministers of the Indonesia Maju Cabinet.
In this ceremony, the national anthems of the two countries were sung and nineteen times the cannons were fired.
After that, the Prime Minister of Palestine and the President of Indonesia entered the Bogor Presidential Palace for a group photo session followed by the signing of the guest book. Then, they had a tree-planting session together.
This joint tree-planting procession has become one of the routine activities carried out when welcoming state guests. The tree planted by them is the Meranti tree.
After planting trees, the two leaders returned to the main building of the Bogor Presidential Palace. They continued their activities by holding bilateral meetings with delegates from both countries.
The series of official meetings will be closed with a lunch at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java.
After leaving the palace, PM Shtayyeh will visit the Heroes' Cemetery, Kalibata to carry out the wreath-laying ceremony. It is planned that the Palestinian Prime Minister and his entourage will be in Indonesia for the next three days.
