Brazilian Man Gets Guinness World Record for Farthest Eyeball Pop

VIVA – A Brazilian man, Sidney de Carvalho Mesquita or known as Tio Chico got the Guinness World Records in 2023 for Farthest Eyeball Pop in the world in the men's category. Tio Chico's eyeballs could pop up as far as 18.2 mm beyond the eye socket.
The record has also been verified in Sao Paulo, Brazil on January 10, 2022. Tio Chico discovered this uniqueness when he was nine years. He enjoyed making silly faces in the mirror and realizes that his eyeballs can protrude very far.
Tio Chico also showed this ability to his family and friends, and they felt strange but impressed by the ability.
At first, Tio's parents were worried and thought this ability was a symptom of an illness. However, it was only the extraordinary ability that Tio Chico owned, and it was called Globe luxation.

This condition also does not affect health. The ophthalmologist stated that it was a rare thing that Tio Chico had.
"My ability is a gift. It came from my father, my mother, and God as well," Tio Chico said, as quoted from the Guinness World Records website, on October 24, 2022.
Tio Chico likened the feeling of accentuating her eyeballs to “removing some parts of my body.”
While popping up his eyeballs, he had to lose his sight for a few seconds before he could focus again. He can stick out his eyeballs for 20 to 30 seconds.
To care for his eyes, Sidney de Carvalho uses eye drops to lubricate them, especially when going to events.

There are times when Sidney feels a burning sensation when popping up his eyes because the oxygen begins to dry up when his eyes come out. Therefore, he couldn't keep his eyes open for too long and gave eye drops.
This Brazilian man knows that his eyeballs had been verified by Guinness World Records as a feeling of "pure joy mixed with excitement and ecstasy," Sidney said.
"Being a record breaker is such an amazing experience, that now, I know what I'm capable of," he added.
Meanwhile, the world record for the furthest eyeball pop in the women's category is gotten by American Kim Goodman. She can pop her eyeballs until they pop up as far as 12 mm outside of her eye sockets.
