VIVA – The World Superbike Championship (WSBK) will be held at the Mandalika International Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara this year on November 11 to 13, 2022. Also, it would be attended by ten of thousand spectators.
The Managing Director of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), Priadhi Satria conveyed the target spectator for the 2022 World Superbike Championship. He said his party had targeted tens of thousands of spectators every day to enliven this competition.
"We want fifty thousand per day. We have also talked to the governor and the tourism office. We suggest to them, this WSBK is an event for the local government," Priadhi Satria said when met at the Mandalika Circuit some time ago, as quoted VIVA, Thursday, October 20, 2022.
Furthermore, Priadhi conveyed a plan to overcome the queues that occurred during the WSBK implementation. According to him, the organizers will provide a fast lane and a regular lane for visitors.
"Later, we will tidy up the queue of spectators. Later at every door, we will have a fast lane and a regular lane. If the audience wants to be fast, they don't have to come with a bag, so they don't have to be checked," he explained.
He even had the idea to introduce the typical culture of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to a wide audience. One way to do this is by giving the nuances of local culture in the track area to the use of regional clothing for umbrella girls.
It requires support from the government to be able to realize it. Because this activity is profitable for the government and local communities. Especially in Mandalika, foreign tourists began to visit for holidays.
"If we need it, we need it. We cannot go it alone, without cooperation with the local government. And I think the local government will also benefit (with the presence of the WSBK event)," Priadhi Satria remarked.
As additional information, the Mandalika Circuit is currently undergoing renovations to support this competition. This is also a form of MGPA's efforts to fulfill the request of Dorna.
