Indonesia Starts Exporting the Electric Cars Wuling Air ev

VIVA English – The electric car Indonesian-made, Wuling Air ev, was officially introduced in Indonesia at GIIAS 2022 some time ago. Based on VIVA's search in Gaikindo's vehicle sales data, Monday, October 17, 2022, PT SGMW Motor Indonesia sent Wuling Air ev units to Nepal last month.
This export activity became a step-up for sales of electric cars made in Indonesia, which initially focused on sales only for Indonesia.
It is known, the number of small cars exported is not many, only three units, and the status is Completely Knock Down (CKD) or shipped in a decomposed condition. Later, at the destination, the components will be assembled into a complete unit.
As more information about this Indonesian-made electric car, there are two types of Wuling Air ev that buyers can choose from, namely the Standard Range with a price of Rp238 million on the road in DKI Jakarta, and the Long Range which costs Rp295 million On the Road in DKI Jakarta.
The difference between the Standard Range and Long-Range types is in the battery capacity. The first type has a power of 17.3 kilos Watt hours with a mileage of 200 kilometers, while the second is 26.7 kWh and can be used for 300 km before having to be recharged.
Charging the Standard Range type battery takes 8.5 hours, using 2,000 Watts of stun power. For the Long Range, which is four hours with 6,600 Watts of electricity.
Brand and Marketing Director of Wuling Motors, Dian Asmahani, stated that currently thousands of people have ordered the tiny car.
"So far, there have been orders for approximately 2,500 units," she said in South Jakarta last month.
Wuling Motors targets to be able to produce ten thousand units per year, at their factory located in Cikarang, West Java.
