BMKG Predicts Heavy Rain Still Continues in Jakarta Area

VIVA – The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) is still issuing weather early warnings in the DKI Jakarta area on Friday, October 7, 2022. BMKG asks the public to be alert about the potential for heavy rain and strong wind in the afternoon and into the evening today.

"Be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta in the afternoon and into the evening," according to the announcement as quoted by VIVA on the official website.

BMKG predicts it will rain in the afternoon. In intensity, light rain will fall in West Jakarta and Central Jakarta. Then thunderstorms are expected to fall in South Jakarta and East Jakarta. Meanwhile, North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands are cloudy.

At night, West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta will experience light rain. While the Thousand Islands are cloudy.

Then in the early hours of the morning, the weather in the capital city will be mostly cloudy. Only North Jakarta, the Thousand Islands received light rain.

For today, the air temperature in Jakarta is around 23-30 degrees Celsius with a humidity of 70-95 percent.

According to the BMKG, it will rain in the Banten area. There are even warnings of moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in most areas. Among them are the northern part of Pandeglang Regency, Serang the East and South Regency, Central and South Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, and South Tangerang City.

"Be aware of the potential for flooding or inundation due to high rainfall," the BMKG early warning wrote.

Meanwhile, in West Java, it is also predicted that heavy rain will fall in the afternoon and evening. The area is Bogor Regency and City, Depok City, Bekasi Regency and City, Purwakarta Regency, Subang Regency, Karawang Regency, Indramayu Regency, Cirebon Regency and City, Sukabumi Regency and City, Cianjur Regency, West Bandung Regency, Bandung Regency, and City.
