VIVA – Banten is a province on the island of Java, Indonesia. Banten has many tourist attractions such as beaches, museums, and Ujung Kulon National Park (a place for the preservation of one rare animal in Indonesia, the Badak Cula Satu). The reason why these places are called haunted places, because of the many sightings that make goosebumps and scary. Some of these places used to be tourist attractions, but now, these places are abandoned.

1. Pamarayan Dam

2. Kubur Island
Kubur Island is a mass grave during the Dutch colonial era. On this island, there are various mysterious and scary stories located at the end of this beach.
According to local people, fishermen often find human skeletons. In addition, there is also the myth of the bobongkong ghost, a kind of transparent white ghost that wanders because of its missing limbs.
3. Mount Pulosari
Mount Pulosari in Banten Province is indeed famous as one of the haunted places. According to the circulated story, there is a figure of Banaspati or Fireball who follows these mountain climbers.
This sighting will generally guide climbers off the hiking trail which can make the climber get lost. In addition, several areas in this mountain are often damaged because of being disturbed by the figure of a large pig-shaped ghost.
4. Surosowan Fort
Surosowan Fort is one of the historical sites of the Dutch colonial heritage. This fort is a haunted place that is suitable to be used as an adrenaline test. Surosowan Fort has a mysterious and scary story.
From local people's stories, at midnight there are often sightings of a magical tiger which is believed to be the pet tiger of the ancient sultans. Not only that but there is also a pool that is believed to often show angels at certain times.
5. Singa Andaru Swimming Pool
In the past, the Singa Andari swimming pool was crowded with local tourists. However, it has been closed since the 1980s. According to stories circulating in the community, this swimming pool often claimed lives when it was still operating. In addition, according to local people, this pool stands above the cemetery.
The swimming pool has also been overgrown with moss and weeds, so it gives the impression of being the most haunted place in Banten. People who pass by this swimming pool also often see mysterious appearances until they hear the sound of children playing in the water.
