"We are honored to have the opportunity to be part of Oxford United, an English football club that has a long tradition and history as well as a proud reputation, especially for the people of Oxford," Anindya Bakrie remarked in a written statement received in Jakarta.

Anindya Bakrie said that his party was present during the difficult situation faced by the British and European people who are currently affected by inflation and the energy crisis, the Russia-Ukraine war, and various other things.

"This shows our commitment to improving state relations between Indonesia and the UK," Anindya Bakrie remarked.

Anindya explained Oxford United's target. "First, with the new management, namely the new Chairman Grant Ferguson and the new CEO Tim Williams, we hope that Oxford United in the future can be 'on-the-pitch performance' and all targets can be achieved well," Anindya said.

"Second, Oxford United will implement elements of better corporate governance because, however, football is a business," Anindya added.

"Third, we also want the community development element of Oxford United to be strengthened. We want the residents of Oxford who have the tagline 'the city of dreaming spires' for their city to be closer to their football club," Anindya added.

Next, the new management will also determine significant targets going forward, including the club's target to "upgrade class" to the EFL Championship division and the construction of a new stadium.

Anindya also emphasized the focus of coaching Oxford United's players. Not only strengthen the senior team but also, the club will focus on building an academy to nurture young players.

"Hopefully, later, this facility at Oxford United can also be used at least as a training ground for our national players. We ask for prayers and support from all Indonesian people," Anindya Bakrie explained.
