VIVA – The Head of the UKM Center FEB University of Indonesia (UI) Zahra K.N Murad said that the Job Creation Law will increase the job field, especially in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. Not only that, the job creation law can make the growth of MSMEs increase in the coming years.
"I am optimistic that the Job Creation Law can increase job field," Zahra remarked in a webinar entitled The Job Creation Law Grows Easy Entrepreneurs and MSMEs in Jakarta, on Monday, September 26, 2022.
She opined that the job creation law can grow MSMEs and have the capacity to add workers because of the ease of granting permits and the protection provided through this Law.
“Increasing growth can be said to also increase size. From what used to be 5 to 10 people, it could be 15 to 20 people, they (MSMEs) can add workers," Zahra remarked.
She continued that the provision of support, assistance and empowerment carried out through this law will also encourage the creation of new MSME actors, especially young business actors.
"The formation of new MSMEs will also increase job creation," Zahra added.
However, the stakeholders need to be serious in applying the mandate of this law, especially to SMEs with low education and the elderly, due to their limited capacity to access information.
“While I am very positive, we cannot stop there. Because the characteristics of our MSMEs are not uniform, and business actors over 40 years old tend to not have the awareness to touch the formal aspects, such as to make their business permits," Zahra explained.
On the same occasion, Secretary of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Socialization of the Job Creation Law, Arif Budimanta said that three contents in the Job Creation Law will increase the growth of MSMEs, namely aspects of convenience, aspects of empowerment and aspects of protection.
In the Job Creation Law, he said that the tax treatment for MSMEs is also different compared to larger businesses, and there is a special cluster that discusses MSMEs and cooperatives.
