North Sumatra Will Host Two Series APRC and WRC in 2023

VIVA – In 2023, the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) again choose North Sumatra to host the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC). Interestingly, two series will be held next year.
It was conveyed by the Chairman of the Indonesian Motorcycle Association (IMI) of North Sumatra, Harun Mustafa Nasution to reporters on Thursday, September 22, 2022. However, he said that his party is currently focusing on implementing the 2022 Lake Toba APRC.
APRC for this year will take place at the Industrial Plantation Forest in the Nauli Sector, Prapat, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra, from September 23 to 25, 2022, and will be followed by 65 racers and navigators.
"Alhamdulillah, we continue to prepare carefully (APRC 2022), coincidentally, we have just done it not too far (the National Rally Championship) we continue and refine what must be improved in the future better," Harun Mustafa said.
Harun expressed his gratitude because the FIA ??trusted him to hold the APRC again next year.
"Next year, APRC and WRC (World Rally Championship)," Harun remarked.
Harun explained the progress of the World Rally Champions in 2023. North Sumatra must go through two APRC series first. So, the continuation of the two series will be decided. However, he is optimistic that his party together with the Central IMI will hold a WRC.
"WRC has stages, after national. We focus on APRC, and next year two APRC series will be awarded in North Sumatra. One is the deciding series. Foreign participants in the championship," Harun remarked.
Harun said that he could not provide a definite schedule for the two APRC series in 2023 because they had to be re-coordinated with the FIA.
Meanwhile, the deputy governor of North Sumatra, Musa Rajekshah is happy that North Sumatra was chosen to hold two APRC series next year to lead the 2023 WRC.
"North Sumatra is scheduled to get two series in the Asia Pacific Rally Championship, before the World Rally Championship," Musa Rajekshah or Ijeck explained.
