Here’s a profile about Jim Geovedi. In 2009, Jim Geovedi went viral after uploaded a video on how to break into the cybersecurity of space satellites. He claimed to be able to manipulate financial data and control Internet traffic in Indonesia.

Jim Geovedi previously had no background in informatics education, he graduated from high school (SMA) in 1998 to 1999 and worked as a graphic artist.

Then a pastor introduced him to the world of informatics, such as computers and the internet. Since then, he has self-taught the skills he has.

Then, in 2001, Geovedi founded an information technology (IT) consulting firm for government agencies. The company was named C2PRO Consulting.

The General Elections Commission (KPU) in 2004 also asked Jim Geovedi for help to uncover the hacker who hacked the election vote count data and he managed to find out who the culprit was.

Jim Geovedi claims to have hacked Indonesian satellites and Chinese satellites. His client at that time, was asked to test the satellite control security system and see if it was possible to shift or change its rotation.

He became popular in the world after he created the FreeBSD and OpenBSD operations. He also once said that he could control the Internet network throughout Indonesia, divert data traffic, and modify all financial transactions.

However, he was not interested in doing so. The media often refer to them as examples of people who are famous in the IT industry by relying on intelligence even without an academic degree.

Now, Jim Geovedi lives in London, England, and often does interviews about cybersecurity systems.

Besides being known as a cybersecurity expert, Geovedi is also known as a professional music producer. Currently, he is working with Elektra Recording, a music label in Sydney, Australia.
