Car Sales in Indonesia Break Records, Check Best-Selling Brands

VIVA – Car sales in August recorded an increase compared to the previous month. It can be seen from the data provided by the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries or Gaikindo.

As quoted by VIVA on Thursday, September 15, 2022, in the 8th month of this year, there were 91,164 units of shipments of four-wheeled motor vehicles or more from dealers to consumers.

That percent figure is 13.2 percent higher when compared to the previous month which was only 80,529 units. The achievement in August this year was also 20.2 percent higher, compared to the same month last year.

Car sales of 91 thousand units were also the highest ever achieved this year during the January-August period.

As of last August, Toyota was still the best-selling automotive brand in Indonesia with total sales of 202 thousand units for eight months in 2022. Especially in August, the number reached 29 thousand units.
