Indonesia Wants Job Market More Inclusive for Disabled People

VIVA – At the G20 Labor and Employment Ministers Meeting (LEMM) on September 14, 2022, Indonesia will invite member countries to make the job market more inclusive. So, it is open to the disabled people.
The Indonesian Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah said that an inclusive job market was an agenda that was championed by Indonesia during the G20 ministerial meeting.
According to Ida Fauziyah, the job market must be open to people with disabilities, then community-based competency development.
"This year, Indonesia as the head of the G20 believes that the world's economic recovery after being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic must be an opportunity to make the job market more inclusive, so that no one group is left behind," Ida Fauziyah explained.
Ida Fauziyah also said the Indonesian government has a point of view that world economic recovery requires the cooperation of all countries in the world because this cooperation will accelerate, ensure inclusiveness and no country is left behind in this development process.

Therefore, the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower at the location of the G20 LEMM event held an exhibition showing Indonesia's best practices in opening the job market for people with disabilities.
At the exhibition site, several booths, such as DNetwork and Menembus Batas demonstrated the active role of non-governmental organizations in participating in shaping a more inclusive job market.
“Our purpose is to show that the Indonesian G20 Presidency is not just talking about concepts. However, we also have examples or role models as we have been focusing on at the G20 EWG Meeting forum,” Ida Fauziyah remarked.
The G20 EWG is a meeting of senior officials at the deputy or director general level to discuss various global labor and employment issues, whose recommendations will be forwarded to a ministerial-level meeting (G20 LEMM).
The 6th G20 EWG meeting on 12-13 September 2022 which also took place in Jimbaran, Bali, is part of this G20 LEMM series this year.
