VIVA – After the sad news of Queen Elizabeth II's death, the Britain Kingdom set the burial procession to be held on September 19, 2022. The burial will be held at Westminster Abbey, London.

Ahead of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, a series of ceremonial and constitutional steps must be taken. Currently, England is entering the reign of King Charles III.

The plan for the 10-day agenda, codenamed Operation London Bridge, includes arrangements for Queen Elizabeth II's last trip to London and a state funeral.

Here's the sequence in the coming days until the funeral:

1. On Sunday, September 11

On September 11, the queen's wooden coffin is brought from Balmoral Castle in Scotland by six gamekeepers and will be loaded into a group of seven vehicles.

As quoted from the AP, Monday, September 12, 2022, then the queen's chest was carried to the Edinburgh region, passing through the towns and villages of rural Scotland.

People will pay their respects along the route, from lining the country roads to gathering in huge crowds in Edinburgh. The queen's entourage and body will rest overnight at the Palace of Holyrood house in the Scottish capital.

2. On Monday, September 12

Then on September 12, King Charles II and his wife Camilla will visit Parliament to receive condolences from the House of Commons and House of Lords.

The royal couple then flew to Edinburgh where they attended a memorial service for the queen, visited the Scottish Parliament, and met senior officials.

The queen's coffin accompanied by the king and empress will travel to St. Giles Edinburgh, where he will stay for 24 hours so the public can pay their respects. Members of the royal family will also stand guard near the coffin at night.

3. On Tuesday, September 13

On September 13, the queen's coffin was transported by hearse to Edinburgh Airport, then the plane carrying the coffin and entourage was flown by the Royal Air Force to London and taken to Buckingham Palace.

The King and Camilla will visit Northern Ireland, where they will meet politicians and religious leaders and attend services at St. Anne.

4. On Wednesday, September 14

On September 14, the coffin was transported from Buckingham Palace to Parliament in a cannon carriage with the king and other royals walking behind.

The coffin was later placed in Parliament's medieval Westminster Hall. The late Queen would then lie down for four days, until the morning of her funeral. Public will be able to pay their respects and troops will be on guard around the clock.

5. On Friday, September 16

Meanwhile, on September 16, the King and Queen Consort will visit Wales.

6. On Monday, September 19

The coffin of Queen Elizabeth II will be carried from Westminster Hall to nearby Westminster Abbey for a state funeral which begins at 11 a.m. local time. Leaders and dignitaries from around the world are also expected to attend.

The funeral marks the end of the national at 10 a.m. and the day will be a public holiday across the UK.
