The 2022 World Rock Climbing Cup Holds in SCBD Jakarta
VIVA – Jakarta will host the 2022 World Rock Climbing Cup on September 24 to 26, 2022. General Chairperson of the Central Board of the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation (PP FPTI), Yenni Wahid ensures that the 2022 ISFC World Cup will be held at Lot 16-17 SCBD.Â
Previously, the 2022 rock climbing competition would be held in Kemayoran but this is changing in SCBD. Yenny Wahid has not yet explained in detail the reason for the change of location.
"We plan to invite media friends for socialization soon," Yenny told reporters via WhatsApp message.
The 2022 Rock Climbing World Cup in Jakarta will compete in two numbers, namely speed and lead. In other words, there is no boulder number.
Indonesia has a mainstay athlete in the speed number, namely Kiromal Katibin who currently holds the world record with 5,009 seconds which was created in the qualifying round of the 2022 International Rock Climbing Federation (IFSC) World Cup in Chamonix, France, July 8, 2022.
In addition, there are also the names of Veddriq Leonardo, Aspar Jaelalo, Zaenal Aripin, Alfian Muhammad Fajri, and others. Meanwhile, for the lead number, Indonesia has Musauwir, Moch. Ferza Fernanda Abdi, M. Ramzi Firmansyah, and M. Rizki Syahraflis.
Rock climbing is known to be one of Indonesia's leading sports that are expected to succeed on the international stage, including in the Olympics.
As information, the 2022 World Rock Climbing Championship consists of 13 series. Indonesia is included in the IFSC calendar for 2022 and has the opportunity to host the 12th series by competing for lead and speed numbers.
