New Daihatsu GranMax Presents in Indonesia, Prioritize Function

VIVA – The Indonesian automotive market again presents a light commercial vehicle, namely the Daihatsu GranMax. This model is repeatedly included in the best-selling list of the Japanese brand.
Since it was first introduced in the country in 2007, the Daihatsu GranMax has not received a refresh. The reason is simple, consumers of this model vehicle are not concerned with appearance, but more with function and efficiency.
Some time ago, information circulated that the automotive manufacturer registered a new commercial car design that looks like the Daihatsu GranMax. There are four types of cars that are registered for patents. One is in the form of a minibus, one minibus with an open tub, and two pick-ups.
It looks similar to the Daihatsu Hijet which is officially marketed in Japan. Uniquely, they also offer Gran Max products imported from Indonesia.
When confirmed about the presence of the latest model of the legendary car, PT Astra Daihatsu Motor did not respond. However, today they finally showed their newest generation.

Located in South Jakarta, ADM introduces the new Daihatsu GranMax. The appearance is still the same as the old version, it's just that now the type equipped with a 1.500cc engine gets an update to 2NR-VE with VVT-i technology.
Previously, the machine has been applied to several other Daihatsu models, such as the All-New Xenia and New Terios.
During the launch session on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, Marketing Product 1 Department Head ADM, Dendy Triyanto said the new GranMax comes with a new horse-style machine.
"If the old engine has 95 horsepower, the new GranMax with a 2NR-VE engine can produce 97 horsepower or fast power," Dendy Triyanto remarked.
According to Dendy, other changes include the use of 14-inch tires for maximum traction on the road. Then the dashboard was also redesigned and added a special place to put drinks close to the AC outlet to keep it cool.
"Especially for the GranMax with a new 1,500cc engine, the steering wheel is already using electric power steering, so it's more comfortable," Dendy Triyanto remarked.
The price offered for the new Daihatsu GranMax with a 1,500cc pickup variant is Rp156 million, while the minibus version is Rp213 million. Both figures are on the road DKI Jakarta.
