Electric Buses in Public Transportation Have Many Advantages

VIVA – The implementation of electric buses for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) services in Greater Bandung will have many advantages, one of them is to deal with air pollution that has been contaminated by fossil fuel vehicles.
While in Bandung on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, as the President Director of VKTR, Gilarsi W Setijono explained that the Jasa Sarana program to implement the use of electric buses in public transportation must be carried out consistently.
"To start converting to electricity, it's something that is non-negotiable. The reason is, the contribution from the transportation sector is above 22 percent," Gilarsi W Setijono remarked.
According to Gilarsi W Setijono, if it is not done quickly, poor air quality will become an absolute legacy.
"If we don't immediately do something about transportation by minimizing (potential pollution), those of you who are generations far below me will be drowning in air quality," Gilarsi W Setijono remarked.

The President Director of VKTR also said, the advantages of an electric bus that are more efficient can be a high investment with a good social impact.
"One side of the business but on the other side there is idealism here. The idealism was earlier, how can we help," the President Director of VKTR said.
"So, our mission is to accelerate, adopt. Where to start? from public transport, why? because it provides the fastest education, people feel it," he added.
These electric buses will be much more efficient than buses with gasoline and can provide excellent comfort.
"There is no excessive noise, there is no excessive heat, now from the comfort side it is very good," Gilarsi W Setijono remarked.
"Then let's see what? It makes it easier for us to get to things that are security in nature, all of the passengers can get in very easily, because all of them enter electronic devices but they are big (buses)," he added.
Previously, it was known that the government of West Java had a plan to build and realize public transportation infrastructure with fast, comfortable, modern mobility, and affordable rates for the people by using Bus Rapid Transit.
