New Regulations for Train Passengers Starting Today

VIVA – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has released new rules for prospective passengers. In accordance with the issuance of the latest circular letter from the Ministry of Transportation Number 72 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Rail Transportation during the COVID-19 Pandemic Period. These rules take effect from today, Monday, August 15, 2022.
For prospective Long-distance Train (KAJJ) passengers aged 18 years and over who will depart from the Daop 1 Jakarta area from Gambir Station, Pasarsenen, Jakartakota, Bekasi, Cikarang, Karawang and Cikampek, if the third vaccination (booster) has not been vaccinated, it must show a negative result or valid PCR test at the time of boarding.
"Meanwhile, prospective of KAJJ passengers aged 6 to 17 years who have received the second vaccines, do not need to show negative results for COVID-19 screening," Head of Public Relations of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Eva Chairunisa told reporters on Monday, August 15, 2022.
According to Eva, her party urges prospective train passengers, especially those departing on August 15, 2022 onwards, to pay attention to the latest rules and regulations.
Eva said passengers who do not have the requirements will be refused to leave and can cancel tickets.
During the transition period August 15 to 17, 2022, passengers who cannot show a negative PCRÂ test result can cancel tickets with a 100% refund and can be canceled no later than D+7 from the date of departure.
Here are the complete requirements for train passenger that using KAJJ and local valid from August 15, 2022:Â
1. Requirements for Passenger Long Distance Train
Age 18 years and over
a) The third vaccine (booster) does not need to show a negative result of COVID-19 screening.
b) The second and first vaccines must show a negative result of the 3x24 hour RT-PCR test.
c) Not/has not vaccinated for medical reasons must show a doctor's certificate from a government hospital and a negative result of the 3x24 hour RT-PCR test.
Age 6 to 17 years old
a) Second Vaccine must show second dose of vaccine card/certificate without showing negative results of Covid-19 screening.
b) First Vaccine must show negative results of 1x24 hour antigen test/ 3x24 hour RT-PCR.
c)Â Has not been vaccinated for medical reasons must show a doctor's certificate from a government hospital and negative results of 1x24 hour Antigen test/ 3x24 hour RT-PCR.
d) Travel from abroad that has not vaccinated must show a negative result of the 1x24 hour Antigen test/ 3x24 hour RT-PCR.
Age under Six years old
Vaccination is not mandatory and it’s not required to show a negative result of Rapid Antigen Test or PCR, but there must be a companion who meets travel requirements.
2. Regulations for Passenger Local Trains and Agglomeration
a) At least the first dose of vaccine is not required to show a certificate of negative Rapid Test Antigen or RT-PCR results
b)Â Has not been vaccinated for medical reasons must show a doctor's certificate from a government hospital
c) Customers under six years are not required to be vaccinated but must have a companion who meets the travel requirements.
