VIVA – Many horror movies in Indonesia have interesting storylines with hideous shooting locations. The background of the location in making a horror movie is one of the important elements that must be considered.
Currently, several shooting locations for horror films have become popular and visited by many people because they want to feel the sensation and test the adrenaline in the horror film, especially the horror films that have successfully captivated people's hearts.
Well, here are some horror movie locations that have become new tourist attractions for people.
1. The Potato House
The Potato House, besides being a horror movie title, is also a real shooting location which is known to be very haunted. Local people often smell the scent of boiled potatoes and often hear the sound of crying children from inside the house. This was later adopted as the title of a horror film by using the location in the house.
2. Flats – Satan’s Slaves 2: Communion
The flat that behind the Sumber Arta Market, Bintara Jaya, West Bekasi has become a hot topic on social media and this place being the location for horror movie, Satan’s Slave 2: Communion.
The director, Joko Anwar, took months to find a shooting location as the setting for this movie. The building is said to have been abandoned for 15 years.
3. Pangalengan Old House - Satan's Slave
Actually, Satan’s Slave is an old film from the 1980s, then it was remake by Joko Anwar in 2017. In this remake, Joko Anwar used a house that looks terrible. It’s known that the location of this place is in the middle of a tea plantation.
Located in the Margamukti Village area, Pangalengan, Bandung, the old house with wooden walls is the front image of the house where 'Mother' lives. While the shooting location uses an empty house that’s right behind the house.
4. Plunyon Bridge – KKN in Dancer Village
Plunyon Bridge became the location for shooting a horror movie entitled KKN in the Dancer Village. This bridge is located in Cangkringan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The bridge became the time when the KKN students first arrived at the Dancer Village.
5. Satonda Island – Jailangkung
The success of the Indonesian horror film Jailangkung in 2017 had an impact on an island called Satonda which was the location for shooting the film.
Satonda Island in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is an island that holds many mysteries in the surrounding people. The most famous mystery is the existence of a forbidden island that actually isn’t inhabited at all.
