Five Haunted Places in Jakarta that were Made into Film

VIVA – Jakarta has some places that have horror stories and are famous for being haunted. Not infrequently, these scary places become the talk of the public.

Not only that, there have been many films in Indonesia that have made this place the setting background or storyline of the film. Well, here are places in Jakarta that were made into a film.

1. Casablanca Tunnel

The Casablanca Tunnel is located in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta. This tunnel has its own mystical story. Many said, the Casablanca Tunnel was often a place for supernatural beings to appear such as kuntilanak, old grandmother, big black creature.

Starting from these scary stories, this became the setting of a film in 2007 called 'The Tunnel of Casablanca'.

2. Langsat Mayestik Park

Langsat Park is a sports facility behind the Barito bird market which is filled with activities of people from morning to evening, the presence of many trees that protect residents from the hot sun is one of the factors that makes these places crowded.

Unfortunately, this place has a scary story. The story from the security guard and the tavern keeper there made Director Eka Katili try to visualize the story in a film entitled 'Taman Langsat Mayestik'.

This 2014 film stars Metta Permadi, Ki Joko Bodo and Fauzi Imam. Apart from being a player in this horror genre film, Ki Joko Bodo was also asked to supervise the disturbances of creatures during the shooting process.

3. Potato House

The Potato House in Jakarta has a very scary story. Local people often smell the strong stench of boiled potatoes, and the cries of small children can be heard from inside the house.

It was said that in this house there was a small child who fell into a cauldron that was being used to boil potatoes. It was the restless spirit of the little boy who spread the smell of potatoes.

In 2012, the Potato House was appointed as the title of a horror film directed by Jose Purnomo. This film stars Shandy Aulia, Tasya Kamila and Gilang Dirgahari.

4. Klender Mall

Klender Mall in Jakarta was a silent witness to the tremendous reduction in looting and the combustion in 1998. Even though the mall and shops have now been rebuilt, the dark history that happened at the mall will not be forgotten.

Some people in Jakarta claimed to have experienced strange and spooky incidents while at the Klender Mall location. Strange incidents such as an angkot passenger who looks scorched on the face when glanced through the car window, or screams from inside the mall become popular among the public.

Finally, the story was made into a film by Director Danny Poernomo with the title 'Mall Klender'. This 2014 film stars Shandy Aulia, Tasya Kamila, Igor Saykoji, and Denny Sumargo.

5. Bintaro Railroad

BIntaro railroad had a tragic story. On October 17, 1987, there was a fatal accident that set hundreds of people in a train accident.

After the incident, almost every year there are always reports of mystical events at this location. Some of the sightings that often occur are rolling heads, screams without being identified, until a tattered figure walking on a rail.

Finally, this place was appointed in a film entitled 'Dendam Arwah Rel Bintaro', starring Adjie Pangestu, Bella Shofie, and Yeyen Lidya.
