VIVA – Ears can be part of the body that also can be a sign of heart disease. This sign that appears in the ear is called the Frank Sign. The name is taken from the name of the man who first noticed the sign, namely dr. Sanders Frank in 1973.

At first, dr. Sanders Frank observed this sign on the auricles of twenty patients who had chest pain associated with heart disease.

Frank's sign is referred to as a risk sign for coronary heart disease that can be seen from the skin. In a study that was conducted for 35 years, it was found a significant relationship between the appearance of marks on the earlobe and an increased risk of ischemic heart disease.

However, even though Frank's sign is associated with the heart, it doesn't necessarily mean that someone who has the sign has heart disease. So, there is no definite answer regarding this problem.

One thing is for sure, Frank Sign is associated with loss of elastic and elastic fibers. This is a process that damages blood vessels in people with coronary heart disease.

Meanwhile, ear lobes that signal they have heart disease as scientists say, they could still be on the verge of curing genetic heart disease. The breakthrough was described as a 'once in a generation opportunity'.
