VIVA – The implementation of the Indonesian hajj quota has been reduced by less than 50 percent. Even so, the pilgrimage was successfully held. There are many interesting facts about the implementation of the Indonesian Hajj in 2022.
The announcement of the certainty by holding the 2022 Hajj was first made by the Saudi Arabian government at the beginning of Ramadan. On the 17th of last Ramadan, Saudi Arabia announced that the quota for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims was only 100,051.
It was the H-47 from the departure of the first Indonesian batch in early June 2022.
"If we cut the Lebaran holiday for 10 days, the total preparation we have made is only 37 days," the Director of Foreign Hajj Services, Subhan Chalid said on Friday, July 29, 2022.
Whereas in normal situations, one month after the implementation of the Hajj, namely on the 15th of Muharram, Indonesia usually has received an invitation to discuss the preparation for the next year's Hajj.
"Indonesia always gets the first turn especially on Rabiul Awal. So, we usually have quite a long time, from Maulid to Shawwal to prepare for the pilgrimage," Subhan Cholid remarked.
"Well, this year, we have just started on H-37. We believe that because this is a guest of Allah and we are only carrying out the Shari'a, Alhamdulillah, we can carry out the pilgrimage," Subhan added.
So, here are some interesting facts about the implementation of the Indonesian Hajj in 2022.
1. Indonesia Partners with 88 Hotels
In Mecca, Indonesia cooperates with 40 hotels with all capacity for regular pilgrims. Of the 40 hotels, there are 26,647 rooms, and 26,985 bathrooms.
"While in Medina, we are working with 48 hotels. Why more, because the hotels in Medina have a smaller capacity. The largest capacity is 1,000 rooms," Subhan explained.
"The number of rooms prepared in Medina is 8,631 rooms with 8,580 bathrooms," he continued.
In total, the number of hotels in Medina and Mecca reached 88 hotels with 35,278 bedrooms and 35,565 bathrooms.
2. 9 Bottles of Drinking Distributed Each Day for Each Congregation
In addition to accommodation, consumption services in Jeddah, Mecca, Medina and Masyair, Indonesia cooperates with 46 companies related to consumption. The total amount of food provided is 11,047,135 boxes, with a total of 35,088,810 bottles of drinking water.
"So, every caterer is given a small bottle. In the past there was a big one. For maintain the sterilization and health, we distribute it in bottles every day, which is 9 bottles for each congregation each day," Subhan remarked.
3. Transportation includes Intercity Bus, Shalawat, and Masyair
Transportation for Hajj Indonesian in 2022 services include intercity buses, Shalawat and Masyair. For intercity of all routes, from Airport to Medina, Medina to Mecca, then Mecca to Jeddah and vice versa.
"A total of 6,264 trips for all routes," Subhan explained.
For the Shalawat bus in Mecca, it operates 24 hours non-stop during the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca from 13 Dhul Qa'dah to 5 Muharram.
"We stopped the operation of the Shalawat bus the last time the congregation left Mecca on 5 Muharram or August 4." Subhan said.
Then for Masyair transportation, the number of trips counted from Mecca to Arafah, Arafah to Muzdalifah and Muzdalifah to Mina, and Mina back to Mecca totaled 1,927 trips.
