Gate to hell is the name for the eternal fire pit with a diameter of approximately 69 meters in Turkmenistan was created due to the negligence of humans.

This began in 1971, when several Soviet biologists carried out drilling full of methane gas.

But, when the drilling took place, the ground in that place collapsed and made a big hole and at the same time a fire appeared in the hole. Until now, the fire in the hole is still burning and the hole is so wide, people call it the Gate to Hell.

Yanar Dag or known as burning mountain is a mountain with a height of 116 meters which is about 25 kilometers east of Baku City, Azerbaijan.

This eternal fire has a quite unique shape that is formed from foreign gusts in the mountain area. A researcher, Alexander Dumas and Marco Polo have written about this eternal fire.

For thousands of years the natives have used natural asphalt in Baba Gurgur to build houses, roads and other things.

The blaze emits hydrogen sulfide gas which is dangerous to humans. So, visitors must obey warning signs to pay attention to wind direction.
