The biggest butterfly in the world is Queen Alexandra or the scientific name Ornithoptera Alexandrae. Its wingspan is almost 1 ft (0.3 m). However, O. alexandrae is rare, it lives in the rainforests of Papua New Guinea and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) lists this butterfly as endangered.

The females of this species are brown and have a wingspan of 11 to 12 inches (28 to 31 centimeters), while the yellow, green, black and blue males are slightly smaller, with a wingspan of 6.7 to 7.4 inches (17 to 19 cm).

The biggest rodent in the world is Kaphibara or it has a scientific name, Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris. It is about 2 feet (60 cm) tall at its shoulders, making it the largest living rodent on Earth.


