VIVA – Boris Johnson officially resigns as UK Prime Minister because he avoided an unprecedented political crisis in the UK. The resignation was delivered on Friday, July 7, 2022.

Boris Johnson conveyed the process for selecting his successor will soon be scheduled for a change in leadership to be announced next week.

He also said leaving the position as UK Prime Minister is very painful. But he admits that he has failed to resist attacks by his agriculture minister's opposition to his resignation.

"Now it's clear the will of the Conservative Party in parliament that there should be a new leader for the party and therefore a new prime minister. I'm sad to have to give up the best job in the world, but it's something I have to accept." Boris Johnson said, quoted by Usa Today.

Alexander Boris De Pfeffel Johnson or usually known as Boris Johnson was born on June 19, 1964 in New York, United States. His father is a British citizen who studied at Columbia University majoring in Economics.

Boris Johnson had worked as a journalist at one of the well-known media, namely The Times. But Boris Johnson was fired after composing a quote attributed to the historian who is his godfather.

Despite the case, Boris Johnson was able to land jobs at The Daily Telegraph and The Spectator.

Boris Johnson then served as a member of parliament from 2001 to 2008 and as mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. He was appointed Secretary of State from 2016-2018 after which he returned to his roles as a journalist and parliamentarian.
